Brett W. Hetherwick

Managing Partner

Before joining BroadVail, Mr. Hetherwick spent 10 years with MetroNational, most recently as vice president. MetroNational is a privately held real estate investment, development and management company headquartered in Houston. In his role as vice president, he was responsible for the operation of the company’s real estate portfolio, which contained over 8.5 million square feet spanning a variety of asset classes including office, hospitality, multifamily, retail, self-storage, healthcare and recreation. Mr. Hetherwick also served as a key member of MetroNational’s development team.

Prior to MetroNational, Mr. Hetherwick spent two years as a financial analyst at Gen Cap Partners, an institutional real estate investment advisor focusing on European pension funds. Prior to Gen Cap he spent two years as an internal auditor with Union Pacific Resources.

Mr. Hetherwick earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance and accounting from Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business. He earned a Master of Business Administration with a focus on entrepreneurial finance from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

James J. Tramuto

Managing Partner

Prior to forming BroadVail, Mr. Tramuto spent four years with Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (NYSE: JLL) in the real estate investment banking division, most recently as a managing director. In this role, he was responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing asset level joint ventures across the U.S. In addition to co-managing JLL’s joint venture equity placement team based in Houston, Mr. Tramuto was also very active in partial interest sales of domestic trophy assets and portfolios across all asset classes.

From 2003 to 2010, Mr. Tramuto worked at CBRE Capital Markets (“CBRE”) as an executive vice president, where he was responsible for debt and equity origination for all product types across the U.S.

Mr. Tramuto is a founding member and one of three managing partners of the BTZ fund series, two small private equity funds focused on passive investments in CRE assets across the U.S.

Mr. Tramuto holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from Texas A&M University’s Mays School of Business.

Robert M. Zorich

Managing Partner

Prior to forming BroadVail, Mr. Zorich spent four years with Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (NYSE: JLL) in the real estate investment banking division, most recently as an executive vice president. In this role, Mr. Zorich was responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing domestic asset-level joint ventures. In addition to co-managing JLL’s joint venture equity placement team, Mr. Zorich was also very active in partial-interest sales of trophy assets and portfolios across the U.S.

From 2007 to 2010, Mr. Zorich worked at CBRE Capital Markets (“CBRE”) as an investment associate. During his time at JLL and CBRE, two of the leading global CRE service providers, Mr. Zorich successfully advised owner clients across the U.S. on numerous debt and equity transactions across all asset classes.

He is a founding member and one of three managing partners of the BTZ fund series, two small private equity funds focused on passive investments in CRE assets across the U.S.

Mr. Zorich earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration in real estate from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

Michael A. Gwin

Director

Prior to joining BroadVail, Mr. Gwin spent two years with Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (NYSE: JLL) in the real estate investment banking division, most recently as a vice president. In this role, Mr. Gwin was responsible for underwriting, structuring and executing asset level joint ventures across the U.S. During this time, Mr. Gwin assisted in advising clients on joint venture equity investments in various asset classes including multifamily, office, student housing, self-storage and industrial.

From 2007 to 2012, Mr. Gwin was with Thackeray Partners, a Dallas-based real estate private equity firm focused on investing in multifamily, retail, office and industrial properties across the U.S. While at Thackery, Mr. Gwin managed and oversaw a portfolio of assets and was active in all aspects of real estate acquisitions, including sourcing, underwriting, property tours, broker relations, investment committee presentations, contract negotiation, due diligence and loan assumptions.

Mr. Gwin earned a Bachelor’s degree in business in both finance and real estate from the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business.

Justin G. Cables

CFO & Controller

Mr. Cables is a CFO / Controller of BroadVail and is responsible for treasury, accounting, financial reporting and budgeting and works closely with BroadVail’s portfolio companies on accounting, controls and reporting matters.

Before joining BroadVail, Mr. Cables spent 10 years with Ernst & Young in the assurance practice, most recently as Senior Manager. In that role, he was responsible for managing multiple teams in the assurance practice, in which he served domestic and international clients in both the public and private sectors. His experience includes SEC financial reporting, internal control over financial reporting, IPO and debt offerings, asset acquisitions and dispositions, private equity recapitalizations, budgeting and resource management, technical accounting research and consultation, coordination and supervision of accounting, valuation and information technology subject matter experts, talent recruitment and hiring, and the training and development of staff. During his time at EY, Mr. Cables led client engagements for numerous transactions including public and private debt offerings totaling $12 billion, asset acquisitions and dispositions exceeding $8.5 billion, an initial public offering of $1 billion and a private equity recapitalization of $1.2 billion.

Mr. Cables earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master of Accountancy at Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business.
